Why Self-Drive a Supercar in Spain?
Being driven in a supercar is pleasant. Driving one is transformative. The physical sensation of a Ferrari F8 at 7,000 rpm, the lateral g-force through a mountain hairpin, the moment a Lamborghini V10 crosses into its upper rev range — none of that is accessible from the passenger seat. Self-drive is the point.
Spain makes self-drive supercar hire particularly rewarding because of the variety of roads available within a manageable area. From Barcelona you can reach: cliff-edge coastal roads in 30 minutes, mountain passes in 45 minutes, empty agricultural countryside in 20 minutes. The roads are generally well-maintained, the weather is reliable for more than half the year, and traffic outside the main tourist corridors is light.
Self-Drive Supercar Fleet — Spain
Rental policy
The benchmark mid-engine supercar. 720 hp, twin-turbo V8, active aerodynamics, carbon ceramic brakes. In full self-drive mode — Sport or Race — the F8 Tributo responds to every input with precision that makes you a better driver just by experiencing it. The most technically rewarding self-drive in our fleet.
Rental policy
830 hp hybrid, retractable hardtop. Self-drive in the 296 GTS involves managing two completely different powertrains — electric in the city, combustion on open roads — and understanding how Ferrari has integrated them into one seamless response. The most advanced self-drive experience we offer.
Rental policy
620 hp grand tourer. Self-driving the Roma over long distances is a different experience to the sports cars above: more relaxed, more composed, but still very much a Ferrari when you want it to be. The 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox in automatic mode is genuinely excellent. For drivers who want a self-drive experience across Spain's longer routes, the Roma is the right choice.
Rental policy
640 hp naturally aspirated V10. Self-driving a Huracán is a full-sensory experience — the sound, the acceleration, the physical vibration through the steering wheel. The EVO's all-wheel drive and extensive driver assistance systems make it the most accessible self-drive for first-time supercar drivers among our Lamborghini models.
Rental policy
657 hp SUV. Self-driving the Urus Performante feels familiar at first — high seating position, clear visibility, conventional controls. Then you join a clear road and press the accelerator in Sport mode, and the familiarity ends. Four seats, luggage space, and genuinely supercar performance: the most practical self-drive in the fleet for groups.
Rental policy
480 hp, rear-biased all-wheel drive, PDK. Self-driving a 911 GTS is an education in what a sports car should feel like. The feedback through the steering, the flat-six sound climbing through the rev range, the PDK gearbox responding to paddle inputs in 0.01 seconds — the 911 GTS is the self-drive that most drivers describe as the car they understand best.
The Best Self-Drive Routes in Spain
Coastal: Garraf and Sitges (C-31) — 80 km round trip
The reference route for Barcelona-based self-drive. South through Castelldefels, into the Garraf natural park, cliff hairpins above the sea, arrival in Sitges. The Ferrari F8 and Lamborghini Huracán are the cars for this route — mid-engine balance and rear-wheel drive reward precise self-driving through the hairpins. Allow three hours including a lunch stop.
Mountain: Montserrat Circuit — 120 km round trip
Inland on the C-55, climbing to the Montserrat monastery. The final approach involves sustained hairpins where the supercar's gear selection matters — third for the longer curves, second for the tight ones. Views from the top over the whole of Catalonia. Allow four hours.
Multi-Day: Barcelona to Marbella — 1,000 km over 2–3 Days
Spain's great self-drive road trip. The AP-7 south to Valencia (coastal views, fast and open), the N-332 through the Valencian countryside, the descent into Almería's semi-arid landscape, and finally the coastal AP-7 into Marbella. The Porsche 911 GTS or Ferrari Roma are the self-drives most suited to this journey — comfortable at motorway pace, engaging when the road gets interesting. We can arrange delivery in Barcelona and collection in Marbella.
Pyrenees: Cadi Circuit — 280 km from Barcelona
A full-day self-drive into the Pyrenean foothills. C-16 north through Berga to Bagà, then the Tunel del Cadí or the Collada de Toses to La Cerdanya plateau. Return via Ripoll and the C-17. Altitude changes of 1,000–1,500 metres, sustained mountain roads, almost no traffic mid-week. The Ferrari F8 is the self-drive of choice on the descents.

FAQ — Self Drive Supercar Spain
Do I need previous experience of driving a supercar?
Not for all models. The Porsche 911 GTS, Lamborghini Urus Performante, and Ferrari Roma are all accessible for drivers with a conventional road driving background. The Ferrari F8 and Lamborghini Huracán Performante require more experience and confidence — we'll ask about your driving background at booking to ensure the car matches your experience level.
Can I choose my own route?
Completely. Our hires are unrestricted within Spain (EU cross-border on request). There is no set itinerary, no minimum route, and no required return time within the day. The car is yours for the hire period.
What happens if I have a problem with the car while driving?
Call our concierge team — available 24/7 throughout your hire. We handle everything: roadside assistance, vehicle replacement where possible, and logistics. You are never on your own.
Can two people share the driving?
Yes. Additional drivers can be added to the hire agreement at booking. Each driver must meet the same requirements (25+, valid licence, 3+ years experience) and must be registered before the hire begins.
