Barcelona is one of the most rewarding cities in Europe to drive through — and one of the best to escape from into open roads. The Diagonal, the Passeig de Gràcia, the seafront ring road, and then within 20 minutes: coastal curves, mountain passes, and countryside with almost no traffic. At Ultra Lux Ride, our sports car hire fleet covers every point on the spectrum, from a Porsche 911 to a Ferrari 296 GTS. All available for self-drive, all delivered to your door.

Sports Cars Available for Hire in Barcelona

The 911 is the benchmark sports car. 480 hp from a 3.0-litre flat-six, 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, rear-biased all-wheel drive, and a PDK gearbox that shifts faster than a human ever could. The 911 GTS is the sweet spot of the range: more power and sharper chassis than the Carrera S, without the uncompromising ride of the GT3. On Barcelona's roads — city streets, coastal highway, mountain pass — it's an exceptionally capable and rewarding car.

The 718 Boxster is the purist's choice: mid-engine layout, open-top, and the most tactile of our sports car fleet. Its 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six produces 400 hp with a sound that punches well above its displacement. The mid-engine balance means it changes direction with a precision that rear-engine cars simply can't match. For the coastal roads around Sitges and the Costa Brava, the Boxster is as close to a perfect match as you'll find.

When people say "sports car," they mean this — or they should. The F8 Tributo produces 720 hp from a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 that Ferrari has been evolving for a decade. The mid-engine layout, the carbon fibre body, the active aerodynamics that generate downforce at speed — every element is designed around one goal: making the driver feel invincible. This is the fastest sports car in our fleet and the one that stays with you longest after you hand the keys back.

If the Ferrari F8 is technical precision, the Lamborghini Huracán EVO is raw theatre. The V10 doesn't turbocharge its way to performance — it achieves 640 hp through displacement and revs, with a completely different sound character to any turbocharged car. At 6,000 rpm in second gear through a tunnel, the Huracán makes a noise that vibrates in your chest. The all-wheel drive makes it accessible, the theatre makes it unforgettable.

The most advanced sports car in our fleet: a plug-in hybrid V6 producing 830 hp in a package that weighs around 1,500 kg. The 296 GTS achieves 0–100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 330 km/h. The retractable hardtop stows in 14 seconds, and Barcelona's climate makes open-top driving possible on more days of the year than almost anywhere else in Europe. This is the sports car of 2025 — nothing else currently available does what the 296 GTS does.

The Best Sports Car Routes in Barcelona

Garraf Coastal Road (C-31) — 40 km to Sitges

The signature Barcelona sports car route. South from the city through Castelldefels, the C-31 enters the Garraf natural park and the road begins to climb and twist along the cliff edge. Rock face to the right, Mediterranean to the left, smooth tarmac, and a speed limit that drops to 60 km/h on the hairpins. This is the route where you'll understand why people hire sports cars in Barcelona. The Lamborghini Huracán's V10 sounds extraordinary bouncing off the rock walls. Round trip: 80 km. Allow two hours.

Montserrat — 60 km each way

Head inland on the C-55. The road through Sant Andreu de la Barca climbs gradually before the Montserrat approach begins in earnest. The final section involves long hairpins, steep gradients, and views over Catalonia that justify the drive on their own. In the Porsche 911 GTS, the combination of rear engine, PDK gearbox, and the mountain's gradient creates an experience you won't replicate anywhere else. Allow a half-day.

Costa Brava via AP-7 and GI-682 — 100–200 km

For a full-day hire, head north to Blanes and join the GI-682 coastal road. The section between Tossa de Mar and Sant Feliu de Guíxols is the jewel: cliff-edge hairpins, sea views, and almost no traffic outside August. The Ferrari F8 Tributo is the car for this route — its carbon ceramic brakes and active aero ensure you're always well within the car's limits even when the road tightens unexpectedly.

FAQ — Sports Car Rental Barcelona

What's the cheapest sports car I can hire in Barcelona?

Current vehicle-specific starting rates are published in the live fleet. The final price for the selected vehicle, dates and itinerary is confirmed in the quote before booking.

Do I need a special licence to drive a Ferrari or Lamborghini?

No special licence is required — a standard full driving licence valid in Spain is sufficient. You must be 25 or older and have held your licence for at least three years. That's all.

Can I hire a sports car for just one day?

Yes. Single-day hire is available for all models. If you want to do the Sitges coastal route and the Montserrat loop in a day, that's approximately 200 km and entirely feasible as a one-day hire. Contact us to confirm kilometre allowances for your planned route.

Which sports car is best for first-time supercar drivers?

The Porsche 911 GTS or the Lamborghini Urus are the best entry points. The 911 is forgiving and communicative; the Urus is familiar to drive (tall, SUV-like) while delivering completely unfamiliar performance. Both have sophisticated safety systems that are very reassuring if you haven't driven a high-performance car before.
